Metal Gear Philanthropy

Been following the project since the first next gen trailer was released. Finished watching it a few hours ago. It's been getting a lot of press in comparison to other MGS fan films. Other notable works are Metal Gear: Outer Heaven and Metal Gear Solid: Mongoose incident. This one being around as long asthe other two but released later, and having a higher budget and pretty much backed by kojima staff, including the vocalist from MGS1.

I am impressed with the final result and a little irked by the fact there has been a multiple year wait for an hour long episode, when we were led to beleive this was a complete film, does this mean the next one will be released soon? or in the next few years, if ever? Cast was done well, combat scenes were chronographed well with military advisement. The script tries to make the game narrative style more film friendly than it's peer's in the fan film community, and that's good, the film flows well.

All in all the film was good, better than it's rivals. But I still feel underwhelmed considering the hype and advertising of it all. I hope they do complete the film and we get to see how it all turns out. Metal Gear Genesis was canned before completion of the final episode, i'd hate to see that happen to this project.

The Do Over mixes

The Do Over is a classic LA hip-hop venue that goes down on Sunday’s in the summertime. You might end up standing in line for an hour and a half and then being told they’re not letting anyone else in. They literally have 2 separate lines, one for groups of girls and guys who brought girls, and one for single dudes. They would let 1 single dude in for every 5 couples or groups of girls. So needless to say, the best chance most of us here stand at hearing what goes on at the Do Over, even if you live in LA, know Mr. Choc, and are a somewhat reputable dj/artist yourself, is downloading this MP3.
Mr. Choc of the world famous Beat Junkies and the Soul Assassins West Wing Radio gets down on the 2 turntables, and also a second set by Babu, Rhettmatic, J.Rocc & Curse all live in the mix for a celebration of Babu's birthday last week.

back from usa..

I have probably travelled the most miles ever in my life last week. Heathrow- NewYork- New Orleans- Slidell-Nashville-Chicago-Indianapolis-Newark-Heathrow, all in the name of work. Now my body clock is utterly fucked, so here I am at 1am posting up this shit.

internet connection dead and downtime

my net connection in the Halls of Dettness has gone all Graham Norton on me and done one. Im on the case like Lisa Riley on a cheeseburger, but i wish BT were. Now over 3 days with no decent main pc connection so I am resorted to hijacking the neighbours unsecure wifi connection in order to check mails etc.
Also I cannot refresh my Rapidshare account which runs out in the next 4 days. This means all the files I have uploaded in the course of doing this blog will be deleted for ever. My advice? GRAB SHIT NOW BEFORE ITS LOST FOREVER!
I will not be re-upping anything from my rapidshare account anytime soon, so my advice is to flick through the blog and if its a rapidshare file grab it, cos in 4 days, its will be gone.

I am also away again for a week starting this saturday the 5th sept, taking in more American cities. This trip I will be covering New York, New Orleans, Nashville (again), New Jersey and Indianapolis before returning next saturday to Heathrow.
Enjoy the blogs archives while I am away and remember to grab stuff before its gone.
Back in 7 days or when my net is sorted or which ever is first.
