Interspersed with sample from the films themselves and film trailers, it makes for a real easy listening mix with full versions of each track played. Why feature this book on a hip hop blog? Well, I know for a fact that most of you are videogame fans, and also I have seen some of the drawings used in this book end up on walls and canvases by writers worldwide, so its a great reference book. Any fans of any Capcom games at all should get on this, as it s around £35 on import in Forbidden Planet and although in Japanese, this is one book where the pics say it all.

If you know want to get a crash course in hip-hop history there are a couple of key films you need to watch…Style Wars is one of them. The documentary, which covered the four elements of hip-hop, was first aired way back in 1983 on PBS. According to the film producer’s there was more than 29 hours of additional footage that never made the cut. So for the upcoming Blu-ray release the filmmakers are going back to the vaults and cutting the additional never-before-seen footage.
