No DJ mix tonight, but 3 mini mixes by DJ Knowledge. A hot sticky summers night in the studio, fuelled by beer!

visitor request: Just Ice, back to the old school
The title of this album and its cover both speak volumes about the music. If you ever find a copy of this album in a second-hand bin you'll know what I mean. All of the music on this LP was composed by Mantronix, and it's some of the most shameless and audacious use of the Roland 909 I've ever heard. This is a classic old skool rap joint that you can turn up the volume on anytime you want the neighbors to know there's a party in the vicinity.
For Cheech:

cool SF4 trailer
Being a video game junkie since the days of the zx spectrum, I felt I should post up this new trailer for the next game in the StreetFighter series.

lots of newish stuff this week which i have been gathering while I did the 90s series. Just my luck that 1 deck stopped working in the last 20 mins of the show, but I tried my best to fill in.

the fugees- blunted on reality
The Fugees dropped Blunted On Reality to almost no fanfare. Joints like "Boof Baf" and "Vocab [Remix]" were dope enough for most underground heads, but MTV, BET, and radio wouldn't catch on until they dropped the classic "Nappy Heads" remix. Those looking for the same sound from The Score will be in for a bit of a disappointment. Lauryn doesn't sing on this album. As a matter of fact, her and Wyclef rhyme with a passion that you'll probably never hear from them again.
